Nairn House

This house, built in 1784, is a wonderful example of the New England Colonial style, as it has a very steep pitched gable roof, low granite foundation and an asymmetrical five bay facade. A small portion of the clapboard siding is original to the building. This building on the corner of Dock Street and Maiden Lane was originally the home of David Nairn, cooper, but has since become the Shelburne County Museum . An extension was added to the building in 2003.
