Joseph McGill Shipbuilding and Transportation Company Office

Built c. 1875, this two and a half storey, Greek Revival of the Administrative style wooden shingled structure that stands on the corner of Dock and John Streets is in excellent repair. This building was the office for the McGill Shipbuilding and Transportation Company Ltd. It was the ideal location, in the centre of Dock Street in the shipbuilding days. Joseph McGill specialized in building smaller vessels for which there was a great demand. Today, the building houses The Beandock, where you can enjoy a delicious sandwich and drink indoors or out.
