Peter Guyon House

This is one of the twenty one pre-1800 wooden homes in Shelburne. It is a two and a half storey Georgian home with a mansard roof on the south exposure and a gable roof on the north. The foundation is of stone, not cut granite, with a high basement to offset the grade of Charlotte Lane. Arthur F. Bower and his wife Elmore had a grocery store on the north side of the house when they lived here in 1892. Arthur F. Bower was also the master builder of the Atlantic House, a grand hotel that once stood in Shelburne. Today this house is a private residence.
