This museum features one of the oldest fire pumpers in North America, permanent exhibits of shipbuilding in Shelburne and the Shelburne Loyalists, and temporary and traveling exhibits. There is also a resource centre which includes microfilms of 18th to 20th century Shelburne newspapers, private papers and Court of Session records. The Loyalist Link: The Forest and the Sea "This exhibit was created by the Shelburne County Museum and is dedicated to the Loyalists of the American Revolution who settled in Shelburne, Nova Scotia at the close of the 18th century. Shipbuilding eventually became the foremost industry, their descendants building a cherished reputation for their workmanship and skills."
